Kimberley Money Management Service
Kimberley Money Management Service (KMMS) was set up by WNAC in Derby in January 2009. KMMS is a free, financial education service operating through funding provided by DSS.
The program currently services both the Derby township, and remote communities in the West Kimberley through an established outreach program. The outreach program ensures services are delivered to the following communities; Looma, Pandanus Park, Bebunburru, Mowanjum and the Gibb River Road (Imintji, Dodnun, Kupungarri and Ngallagunda).
The core aim of KMMS is to provide assistance to people in financial difficulty by helping them to address their financial problems, make informed choices and build longer-term capability to budget and manage their money. KMMS provides a range of education services including; budgeting, debt management, saving plans, family payment education, bill paying, purchasing assistance, internet & phone banking, information on loans and credit cards, lost superannuation, tax assistance, financial counselling, insurances and free access to phone and computers.
KMMS consistently exceeds the KPI requirements set by the DSS, and is often referenced as a very good example of a Money Management Service.
